Occupations are a basic human need.
The Journal of Occupational Science website posted an article on the theory of human need for occupation at the link http://www.jos.edu.au/article.asp?id=30. This is an interesting article that occupations are essential to the human experience and are a basic need effects all areas of are life. This interesting article is a great example of why occupations are important to use and why when we face a debilitating condition or disease it is important to get back to the best of our ability performing occupations that we find important.
